Description
Designed with the orchestra pit in mind, the Classic Opera Stand was first produced in 1976 and has remained fundamentally unchanged for five decades – a testament to its enduring design and reliability.
The integrated light system is a defining feature of the stand – positioned at the ideal distance from the music tray and carefully controlled to illuminate only the score, ensuring clear visibility without disturbing performers or the surrounding environment. Friction locks hold the light arm securely in place once positioned. The stand can be used with or without a light attached. *Light sold separately.
The stand is available with three tray options – wire, ABS, and wood – allowing it to suit a range of performance and working environments. The classic wire tray is engineered for a neutral acoustic effect, making it particularly well suited to orchestra pits where sound reflection must be minimised. Its off-centre stem and L-shaped base design allow musicians to sit or stand closer to the stand, improving comfort while maximising valuable space in tightly arranged performance settings.
Built for professional use, the steel stem is strong and rigid with a thumb-screw locking system for secure height adjustment. Integrated hooks along the stem provide simple cable management, helping to keep light cables tidy and reducing clutter on the floor.
The solid steel base provides excellent stability, while rubber feet ensure reliable 3-point contact on uneven surfaces. This protects flooring, reduces movement, and minimises unwanted noise or clatter during performance. The unique base shape also allows multiple stands to nest closely together, making storage and transport more efficient.
Trusted by musicians in opera houses, orchestras, theatres, and recording studios worldwide, the Classic Opera Stand continues to demonstrate the strength of its original design. A range of accessories, LED lighting options, and storage solutions are also available to support a variety of professional setups.
